Our main house is cooled by a 2.5 ton conventional a/c. I replaced that unit in June with a new American Standard (Trane) a/c. On the back of the house is a Florida room 44' x 12' that was not air conditioned. Three sides of the room are sliding glass doors, circa 1989, overlooking a lake and facing east. I purchased the QuietCool 4,427 CFM - Energy Saver Advanced Whole House Fan and live in Oceanside, Ca and all I can say is I love it. I can cool the house down normally 10 degrees quickly.
