While I haven't yet installed the fan, I did unbox it and plug it in. I'm no acoustic engineer, but I could barely hear it operate and that was at the motor end. I'm not sure what 45 dB sounds like or maybe I'm hard of hearing - my wife tells me I'm hard of listening but this thing is quiet and that's with it strung out on the hardwood floor. It is impossible to say maybe so at this point, I'd say depends not no. I bought this system from a supplier and have found support sometimes good and others seemed to be the person was reading the same documentation I already had. The reason I called was the documentation is not always very helpful and misses a lot. e.g. There is nothing regarding how to connect the condensate lines to the units except to do it. There is a lot about making sure they drain, but really. That makes obvious... more
